LEGO Boost 17101: Neues Robotersystem für Kinder vorgestellt

Mit dem LEGO Boost 17101 kommt noch in diesem Jahr ein neues Robotersystem auf den Markt: Während sich Mindstorms eher an ältere LEGO-Freunde richtet, ist das LEGO Boost System für Kinder.

Das ist doch mal eine spannende Nachricht – und ich hoffe sehr, dass LEGO auf der Spielwarenmesse Ende Januar das System ausstellt: Mit dem LEGO Boost 17101 kommt ein neues Robotersystem auf den Markt. Natürlich liegt ein Vergleich mit LEGO Mindstorms nahe. Die Zielgruppe aber ist eine andere: Kinder!

Das Starter-Set wird laut Engadget, die das neue System zunächst exklusiv vorstellen durften, 159,99 US-Dollar kosten, ein Preis von rund 150 Euro scheint also realistisch. Carl Merriam, LEGO Minecraft Designer, zeichnet sich für unseren neuen Freund verantwortlich. Und mittlerweile ist die offizielle LEGO Boost Seite online.

Das Set enthält drei sogenannte Boost Bricks. Betrieben wird der Kollege mit Batterien, der Roboter hat verschiedene Ein- und Ausgänge und Sensoren. Zudem blinkt er auf Wunsch munter vor sich hin.

Natürlich wird das System mit einer App flankiert, und diese wird auch dringend benötigt, etwa für die Bauanleitung von gleich fünf verschiedenen Modellen, die sich mit den 840 Teilen, die dem Set beiliegen, realisieren lassen: Vernie the Robot, Frankie the Cat, Multi-Tool Rover 4, Guitar 4000 und einen Automodell. Farblich peppig gestaltet. Im August 2017 kommt das System weltweit auf den Markt.
